The Himalayan Space Centre has been at the forefront of celebrating National Space Day through large-scale
educational initiatives that inspire and engage young minds in space science. In 2024, commemorating India’s historic Chandrayaan-3 milestone, the Centre organized interschool competitions including speech, essay writing, and drawing across 20 schools in Hubballi, engaging a total of 827 students. Building on this momentum, National Space Day 2025 expanded into a grand multi-institutional initiative in collaboration with Rotary Club of Hubli Central and various partner schools, reaching nearly 8,860 students through on-ground programs, online interschool competitions, and activities conducted across 23 Social Welfare and KREIS schools, along with 10 additional space lab schools. Together, these two years reflect the Centre’s sustained commitment to fostering scientific curiosity, experiential learning, and grassroots engagement in astronomy and space education.
